Where sports drives technology

In 2018 the city of The Hague Beach will be all about sailing and a sailing showcase to the world. Over the years, Dutch ORC teams have enjoyed hospitality of previous Worlds organizing countries. Being the 3rd largest ORC country, the Dutch owe it to the community and fellow racers from all over the world to invite them to the low lands to experience the hospitality and the treasure called ‘North Sea’.

Compact and attractive

The Hague Beach, with its authenticity, history and modern seaport seems the perfect location to host the ORC World Championships in 2018. The compact port is more than sufficient to accommodate all boats just a stone’s throw from the competition areas. The surrounding event grounds will complement the race village in addition to existing lively streets and boulevards offering a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops.

It’s all about teamwork

Every member of a team participating in the World Championships knows it: elite sport requires teamwork, focus and dedication. To organise an immaculate Offshore Sailing Worlds requires the same dedication, focus and teamwork; the organizing committee in the Netherlands look forward to a constructive cooperation with ORC and IRC to organise the best in class event for all stakeholders and a permanent smile with the participating sailors.

Where sports drives technology

ORC technology is the largest science based rating system in the world which continuously improves and optimizes striving for ever more fair sailing competition. The Hague region’s scientific and economic roots are fueled with sports, innovation and technology which couldn’t be a better central theme to the Offshore Sailing Worlds: ‘Where sports drives technology’.
